G-BoxAfter the story yesterday about whether Blockbuster Express would be putting video games into kiosks I came across an article on Kotaku.com that showed the new G-Box from Gamefly. This appears to be the same NCR kiosk being used by Blockbuster Express but with a HUGE amount of yellow paint all over it!

Gamefly has hooked up with Barnes and Noble and is placing these in various stores specifically at University campuses. This first one was deployed at Texas Tech. The G-Box stocks the latest games for the Wii, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, allowing players to rent as long as they want for $2.49 a day ($1.99 for Wii titles), with an option to rent-to-own. Compared to a usual $10 for a 5 day rental at Blockbuster stores that can compare reasonably.

This is just the first on a rollout across the country. Let us know if you see one somewhere else. And check out the full story on Kotaku’s site.
